Wulgar Thorrason’s inability to keep his lust under control earns him the ire of a Faery Princess, who sends him forward in time to modern-day Michigan to learn the difference between lust and love. There he meets Raven Harrison, a romance author. The petite beauty piques his lust, but he sees red when she scoffs at his tale of being a time-traveling Viking.

Raven is blown over by the handsome and half-dressed man who comes out of nowhere. His sensuality sends a shiver of desire straight to her feminine core. However, his tale of being curse by a Faery leads her to believe he should be locked up for his own protection. Before she can suggest just that, someone begins shooting at them, and both she and the Viking are running for their lives.

A circumstance that brings them closer in more ways than one, until their unknown assailant threatens Wulf’s life. Now both must make decisions that could destroy their relationship before it gets off the ground—and before the Viking is snatched back to the past.

Viking go Home edition by Faith V Smith Romance eBooks

I love time travel romance--especially where Vikings are concerned--so I was quite delighted to find this book. I justified the price for the novella because of the previous wonderful review, and the fact that I really do love this genre.
Unfortunately, from the get go I was unable to connect with any of the characters. It isn't made clear why Wulf is a philanderer, and he never does appear to think of women as lesser beings or anything like that. He just likes sex.
Then there's a faery, who gets angry at him and throws him into the future, to practically land on top of a woman who just so happened to be in an old cemetery (she's not a photographer, so why would she be there specifically to take pictures anyway, when it has nothing to do with anything regarding her character?) and then some very minor drama goes down and she decides to take this half naked guy with her in her car, despite his claims (in English) to be from the distant past. He spills the beans to her immediately, and she just believes him.
The way Wulf talks is also unbelievable and frankly, annoying. "I be sorry, Raven, but I have tidings."
Really? I swear, every time he has dialogue I roll my eyes and scoff out loud.

Also, I'm pretty sure the story takes place over the span of like 3 days, if that. I'm sorry, but I don't see any of the emotions as even remotely believable if this is the case. At one point, she sees him get a small kiss from someone and runs home crying, and in a dramatic flare declares "Life must go on" and all that BS.

If I could, I'd ask for a refund. The only reason this got two stars instead of one is because the last eBook I bought on here was so poorly edited it made my brain hurt. This is a step up.

Viking go Home edition by Faith V Smith Romance eBooks Reviews

If you're looking for an escape from reality, this novella is an entertaining sexy, time travel with a hunky ancient Viking and a feisty author. While the heroine is in a cemetery doing research for her next book, a half naked Viking warrior lands on top of her. What's a girl to do? If you're a romance author, you bring him home and let the situation and the attraction take it from there. Ms. Smith has become well known for her vampire books, now I'm looking forward to her next time travel.
Viking Go Home grabbed me from the first page to the end. A time travel novella, it is so well written, it will delight readers of all genres.

Wulfgar is a hunky Viking with lessons to learn regarding the huge difference between love and lust (a concept that transcends all centuries). Raven Harrison, a spunky romance author, needs to listen to her heart and take a chance on falling in love.

A "boy meets girl" story wrapped in a deadly mystery, both characters are believable and their emotional growth is handled deftly in the limited pages allowed.

Intriguing, humorous, spicy hot--what more could a reader ask for?

"Until you learn that lust is not love, you will be banned from your homeland."

This is the harsh sentence handed down upon Wulfgar Thorrason by the Norseland faery princess Catriona, for wreaking havoc in both the human and faery worlds. Wulf is catapulted nearly a thousand years into the future to the year 2010.

His first impression of the 21st century includes being shot at and meeting a beautiful woman dressed in "men's garb". Raven not only insults his name but she promptly tells him to Go Home!

As you can imagine, Wulf would be only too happy to comply but has no recourse until he has learned his lesson in love. What happens along the way makes for a humorous, hot and exciting story thanks to one very modern and independent romance writer on a deadline, Raven Harrison.

I enjoyed watching Wulf's appreciation for the fairer sex as independent and capable individuals grow and develop throughout the story. At the same time Raven learns that it's okay to allow someone to care for about her. She doesn't have to be alone to be in control of her life.

Ms. Smith has penned a fun and fast moving novella that will keep you entertained from the beginning to end. Raven and Wulf's HEA, while a little fantastical, works for these characters and left a smile on this reviewer's face. I think you will enjoy it as well.
I love a book where the characters are so well written that you can't put the book down and the characters stay with you long after you read the book. The hero Wulfgar Thorrason is one of those characters. Who wouldn't love a sexy Viking? A great read!
