I purchased this book after seeing some segments that the author had put on Twitter. I was extremely impressed by the book - very to the point and with no filler. It was positive and upbeat, full of excellent tips on the business side of running a business (relevant for other small start-ups, not just photographers). It helps that the photographer who wrote it is outstanding too, as many books like this are written by people who kinda sorta know the business. This is much more authentic, and had me instantly reorganizing my business, and full of drive and enthusiasm. Well worth it.Product details

It is very interesting to read something different. This book is from the point of view of a pro who wasn't considered as the best of the best. If one want to know what it looks like to work in the industry full of stars and fight your way trough it this is the book.
An absolute steal at $5, this book should be every creative entrepreneurs bible on how to be successful. The author tells it like it is, and in my opinion, shares advice that is priceless. From how to avoid being ripped off, to why you should never work on "spec" it's full of tips that will avoid the starving artist curse!
Are you thinking of quitting your day job and becoming a photographer? Before doing so you should read this book first. It tells you where to get the training you need, how much money you could potentially make, what it really takes to run a successful creative enterprise, and how to find new business. This book is much like drinking a cup of espresso, it is very short, very effective and it delivers. A must read for the budding creative professional.
This e-book was quite an enjoyable read. The first thing that I noticed was how easy it was to read - the author uses normal language, without heaps of technical terms to bog you down. The entire thing was quite straightforward, without trying to impress readers or blind them with claims of how easy it is to get rich with photography (because quite frankly, it is a long, hard process). I really appreciated how honest but encouraging the author was. The book contains plenty of solid, helpful advice, with information on getting started, tips on how to improve weak areas and so on within various aspects of photography business. You might even want to keep a pen and paper handy to jot down a list of pointers to review and remember later! Like the other user mentioned above, I've also been pushed to reorganise and fine-tune my business thanks to this book. On a side note, I'd definitely suggest subscribing to Wallis' blog/RSS feed if you found this book helpful.
